Synchronize Outlook contacts with Android

Not everybody wants his contacts and calendar entries synchronized to the Google Cloud - I'm also one of those persons who prefer synchronizing sensitive data locally.

With HTC ROMs you can use HTC Sync for this - for me this have been the only reason why I used this ROMs for a long time.

But what to do if you don't have a HTC smartphone? There are posibilities, too. A possibility is the CompanionLink Android tool, a colleague told me.

The tool synchronizes contacts, tasks, calendar entries, expense information, memos and notes between Outlook and Android 1.6 or higher. To do this, an app called DejaOffice CRM needs to be installed on the smartphone or tablet. This app implements an account and copies the synchronized information into the local Android applications. This means that you don't have to accustom yourself to new third-party applications - all calendar entries or contacts are access using the Android system apps.

For evalution purposes there is a 14-days trial - after this time you can buy the software for 14.95 USD (3 month updates) or 49.95 USD (one-time license). At the time of my tests (28/29.02.2013) there was a special offer for buyting the full version for 39.95 USD.

If you don't want to lower one's sights with Sense ROMs but also want to synchronize contacts and calendar entries, this tool might be interesting for you. It costs a little fee, but this is profitable - in my opinion. 🙂
